3 Ways to Use CBD for Summer Skin Care

3 Ways to Use CBD for Summer Skin Care

CBD for skin care is a hot topic, but well worth your consideration.

The sun is finally shining. The days are growing longer. The weather is getting warm. All signs point towards spring’s arrival and summer is soon to follow. While we all may be excited that we can finally kiss goodbye the days of bundling under layers of clothing, and throwing on pounds of moisturizer, the warm weather can be tough on our skin too.

While it is great that we don’t have to worry about certain cold weather culprits — cough, dry skin, cough — we now have rising temperatures, and the sun to concern ourselves with.

But, luckily for us, hemp infused products are great tools to carry through the warm weather seasons ahead to help soothe and ease our skin when it gets tested by the elements.

First things first, let’s discuss what CBD is.

CBD stands for Cannabidiol. For many of us, when we hear “canna” we automatically think marijuana, and are brought back to smoke-filled rooms in college house parties. However, while both marijuana and CBD are derived from the hemp plant, CBD contains no THC and has no psychoactive properties associated with it.

Now that we have our bases covered, and you know you won’t be getting high off of CBD, let’s discuss its benefits for your skin!

1. It’s Anti-inflammatory

CBD is known for its soothing properties. One of which is that it acts as a natural anti- inflammatory substance. In one study conducted by the Journal of Experiential Medicine, it was shown that CBD quelled inflammation within rodents. This is perfect for when the temperatures start to sky rocket, and your body starts to sweat more. Since the result of this is usually a break-out or lets be honest, two. Since inflammation is the number one cause of acne, utilizing a CBD infused topical product can ease things up a bit, and possibly save you from an unwarranted pimple epidemic.

2. It’s A Natural Antioxidant

More than just a mainstream “chill pill”, CBD is an extremely potent antioxidant. So, what does this mean for your skin in the summer? An added layer of protection. CBD will work inside of you to fight off free radicals. Free radicals are the result of exposure to environmental factors such as U.V. rays. They cause an imbalance in our internal environments, and as a result, wreak havoc on our outer skin. Did someone say wrinkles? Therefore, using a topical CBD product will help combat the internal struggle that happens when we lay out in the sun, soaking up the warmth.

3. It’s Motto Can Be “Hydration Nation”

Want to keep things moisturized this season? Well, you’re in luck. CBD naturally contains skin- loving Vitamin E. Vitamin E is a natural emollient, which means that it moisturizes the skin leaving it to-the-touch soft. You’ll be able to soothe that sun-kissed skin and keep it glowing through the fall.

Curious about CBD products and want to grab one to accompany you on your travels this summer? Try Plant Balm, it’s made from just a few ingredients — Full-spectrum hemp extract (high CBD), beeswax, essential oils, camphor — and can be used as needed throughout the day.
